Learning event breaking down barriers in Lusaka, Zambia May 29 2019

Cheshire homes Society of Zambia together with its partners/donors Lilianefonds and Africa Studies Centre hosted key stakeholders for the learning event of the project called breaking down barriers with four (4) local research students from the University of Zambia. The students were able to showcase their research findings  with focus on inclusive education and Community based Rehabilitation. The lessons learnt from these researches has enabled Cheshire  Homes Society of Zambia and its key stakeholder to identify and document significant challenge/gaps in project delivery and this will help improve disability advocacy in Zambia.

During the event many key stakeholders participated this include some senior government officials, CSOs, Representatives of DPOs and representatives from our Partner Organisations, the media. During the event we also had special Guests from  Netherlands Mrs. Anneke Donker representative from Lilianefonds and Dr. Willem Elbers from Africa Studies Centre/ Leiden University who are the project leaders. Mr Thomas Mtonga lecturer from University of Zambia local coordinator of the project played a critical role as moderator for the event.

 

Looking for an Intern to support our Communication Department and to be Based at Cheshire CBR Programme

The overall task to support the organisation visibility such as creation/management of website, social media activities and support implementation of the communication strategies.

The specific Tasks for the Intern include;

  1. Contribute to creation of website and social media (facebook, twitter/whatsapp)
  2. Creating and uploading relevant articles, audio files, images/photographs and video on the website and social media
  3. Promoting the image of Cheshire CBR; branding, advertising, capture documentaries, events and campaigns
  4. Contributing to the development and execution of communications material

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
